Words that trigger songs in my head…

Sometimes when people are talking to me I hear a key word and a song will go off in my head – maybe not the full song, but a line or two. Here are a few examples:

My Hero – There goes my hero, watch him as he goes… My Hero by Foo Fighters

Happy Birthday – We gonna party like it’s yo birthday…And you know we don’t give a fuck, It’s not yo birthday!… In Da Club by 50 Cent

Let It Go – Let it go, let it go, can’t hold it back any more… Let It Go by Idina Menzel

Blue Moon – Blue moon, you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own… Blue Moon by The Marcels

Sugar – Pour some sugar on me, I can’t get enough… Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard

All Aboard – All Aboard! Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaa! Ay ay ay ay ay ay ay… Crazy Train by Ozzy Ozborne

Goodnight Sweetheart – Goodnight sweetheart well it’s time to go, I hate to leave you, but I really must say, goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight… Goodnight Sweet Heart by The Overtones

With or Without You – With or without you, I can’t live with or with out you… With or Without You by U2

What I want – I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want… Wannabe by Spice Girls

Don’t Stop – Don’t stop believin’, Hold on to that feelin’…Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey

Half way there – Whoooah, we’re halfway there, livin’ on a prayer, take my hand and we’ll make it I swear…Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

What I have learned from writing down this list is that my dad gave me love for the good stuff and that I had a thing for the 90’s! I know the picture doesn’t really match the topic, but since I have so many memories of my dad and I blasting the radio on our road trips I wanted to through up a picture of the two of us. This particular picture was taken on a visit to Washington state for my aunts wedding. We were out causing trouble and found this bridge. You can see from the picture just how fun we really are!

The list could go on and on forever…Who else hears song lyrics while people talk??
